Notice of Public Hearing on the 2019 Weatherization State Plan
Kansas Housing Resources Corporation will conduct a public hearing to provide an opportunity for the public to comment upon the draft copy of the 2019 Weatherization State Plan. The public hearing will be held April 11, 2019, starting at 2:00 p.m. at the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation. KHRC is located at 611 S. Kansas Avenue, Suite 300, Topeka, Kansas.
The 2019 State of Kansas Weatherization State Plan draft includes only pages intended for public comment and can be found on KHRC’s website, www.kshousingcorp.org/more-program-information.aspx. The 2019 State Plan will be very similar to the 2018 plan in policy. There has been a service territory realignment proposed for 2019. This proposal comes from the current service providers with the primary goal of reassigning eight counties to move the service areas closer to each agency’s home base of operation. Under the proposal, East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation (ECKAN) would become the service provider for Allen, Bourbon, Linn, Morris, and Woodson counties and South Central Kansas Economic Development District (SCKEDD) would serve Butler, Harvey, and Marion counties. Public input on the proposed change is sought during this hearing. Limited hard copies of the 2019 State Plan will be available at the public hearing site and upon request. Written comments must be received by 2 pm on April 11, 2019.
Parking is available along Kansas Avenue and the hearing will be less than the two-hour limit. If you are in need of a sign language interpreter, an assistive listening device, large print, or other material for accommodations to attend this meeting, you must notify KHRC at least one week prior to the meeting. Requests may be addressed to Kansas Weatherization Program, KHRC, 611 S. Kansas Avenue, Suite 300, Topeka, Kansas, 66603-3803, by telephone at (785)217-2003, or via the Kansas relay service.
