If you own your home, you may be eligible for help to repair your house. To see if your community has a Homeowner Rehabilitation program, and to find out who to contact about it, click here.
Income limits apply. Before you can be approved, the program administrator will make sure your household is income-qualified.
You must have proof that you own your home. You can have a loan or mortgage, but a contract-for-deed does not qualify.
There is no repayment if you own and live in the house for at least three years after the work is done. If you move or sell in that time, you may have to repay part of the loan.
Repairs to the home are done by qualified contractors, supervised by the program administrator. Your home will be inspected, and the work plan will include those items needed to bring the entire home up to local codes and program requirements.
