Kansas Multi-Family Weatherization Assistance Program (KWAP)

Who the program helps:

The Kansas Multi- Family Weatherization Assistance Program (KWAP) assists low-income families make home repairs that lower their energy bills. KWAP targets households that include elderly people, persons with disabilities, and families with children.

Qualifying Properties:

The Multi-family weatherization program  targets USDA, Tax Credit, and HUD Section 8 properties . The properties being targeted are 15 years old or older.

Qualifying Applicants:

The current eligibility standards in Kansas are at or below 200% of the federal poverty level or 75 % of the state median, whichever is higher (family of  four $52,397.00). A household that receives either Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Temporary Assistance to Families (TANF) during the previous twelve months is automatically eligible for weatherization without regard to income.
