State Energy Efficient Appliance Replacement Program:

Application Process for Appliance Rebate Program Now Closed

Topeka – Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC) committed approximately $2.7 million in funding for the State Energy Efficient Appliance Replacement Program (SEEARP).  On January 28th, 2010, voucher requests received by KHRC exceeded funding available and the application process was closed. Created by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, the appliance rebate program provided vouchers ranging from $200 to $800 to help income-eligible consumers purchase ENERGY STAR rated appliances. The goal of SEEARP was to help low-income households reduce their monthly utility bills by recycling outdated, energy hog appliances with new energy efficient models. In total, KHRC issued 3,843 appliance voucher rebates to Kansas residents.
